Mannojo sets a high value on fun for the moderns and has produced various unconventional performances.
He is a member of Nippon-Enshutsusha-kyokai (a society of producer).



DAIDENGAKU - Performed in Asia-Pacific Festival and Ise-Jingu shrine's "Shikinen Sengusai (a festival that is held when a new sanctuary is built)".

DAIDENGAKU〜HIE AKASAKA - Performed in Akasaka, Tokyo. Mannojo received a prize from Japanese government (Agency for Cultural Affairs) for this performance.

TOJINZUMO - Mannojo formed a historical investigation team on of TOJINZUMO and performed new version of it, which had a good reputation.

SHIN-GIGAKU - A Reproduction of Japanese an ancient masque (under production). It is planned to be completed by 2000.

Other Productions - GENDAI NIWAKA TOKYO NINGEN PANORAMA, GENDAI NIWAKA vol.2 (NIWAKA is a kind of improvisatorial drama), OMOIDE NO SOKUTENBUKO (Sokutenbuko is the name of a Chinese empress), etc.

Mannojo has written many kinds of drama from classic to modern. Some of his drama were mixed with Rakugo (Japanese comic stories).
He is a member of Nippon-Gekisakka-kyokai (a society of Playwrite).

JYUNISHIKASSEN - Mannojo's original Kyogen (a Japanese classical performance).
Other - Dramas mixed with Rakugo or modern play.

研究活動

Mannojo researches on various subjects with many specialists and gives guidance to variety of plays (for example, Ninagawa Yukio's "Tempest") and TV dramas (for example, NHK dramas, like "Taihei-ki", "Homura-tatsu", "Hideyoshi") about classical performance.
He is a member of Gakugeki-Gakkai (an academic society on Gakugeki) and Nippon-Kao-Gakkai (an academic society on human faces).



Mannojo also reproduced Japanese classical performances, such as "Okuni-Kabuki", "Sumaino-Sechie (Sangaku-Part) ".

プロデュース活動

Mannojo promotes GAKUGEKI, educates young people in more than 30 countries, and activates communities.



To promote GAKUGEKI, Mannojo holds "Yamashiro Geino-Sai (An entertainment festival) " and founded A.C.T. Japan.

He is also a teacher in ARTA (the training center for actors in a French dramatic company "Theatre Du Soleil").

俳優活動

Though Mannojo is a son of Kyogen (Japanese classical performance) actor, Nomura Manzo the 6th, he also plays in other types of dramas to be a global artist.



EXAMPLE Modern Plays: "Kantan", "Phedre", "Sado Koshaku Fujin"

Kyogen: Mannojo became a student of his grand father, Nomura Manzo the 6th in his childhood.
He made his first appearance in "Utsubo-Zaru" sat the age of three.
After he played in "Sanbaso" at the age of 15, he became a student of his father, Nomura Manzo the 7th and played important parts as the master of Izumi-ryu (a school of Kyogen) in many Kyogens, such as "Tsuri-Gitsune", "Hanago".
