On-Line Universal Design/Evaluation Tool

A major project of the Trace Center is the development of an on-line design and evaluation tool to assist product developers in creating better and more usable products. A designer will be able to come to this site with their product in mind. The design tool will lead them through a process, asking them questions and providing them with information about aspects of their product which might pose barriers and listing possible strategies they might use to address the accessibility issues or to make their product more generally usable. Specific examples, audio and video clips, copies of reference documents and studies, and resource people they can contact will all be included, as well as on-line chat and discussion areas where they can float ideas or discuss problems with other designers, researchers, and consumers. If you would like to participate in building this tool, send a note to designtool@trace.wisc.edu.
