Status Bar Redirection

Text present in the status bar is presently not accessible to screen readers. The text in the status bar can be directed to a new window by clicking the lower left hand button labeled "status bar redirect On". To stop writing the status bar to the window, click the next button labeled "status bar redirect Off".

To close the new Status Bar Redirection Window click the left hand button labels "Close this Window". The status bar contents are updated each time the status bar changes in the parent window. The specifying of the status bar and redirection of the status bar to the window is caused by an onMouseOver event. The onMouseOver event specifies what will appear in the status bar.

Once the status bar window is created, be sure to click on the parent window to return activity to this window. All the URL links on this page will cause onMouseOver events and direct messages to the status bar. The message displayed in the status bar can now be quite large, providing descriptions or instructions related to the onMouseOver object.
