In the midst of the preparations for the Advanced Networking Seminar, a seminar that directly to the endorsement of the world's fair by many heads of state, we took a few moments out to visit with the author of National Cooking of the Kazakhs, a full-color glossy book filled with the treasures of the country.

Later, playing hooky once again, we went and toured the Almaty market to get some more hints about how to cook some of these dishes at home.
