The Kids were Surprised, Impressed, and Had Fun
Talking with the Kids of the World

On August 29 (Friday), Konishiki had a live talk with the kids of the world over Internet at the International Video Conference Room of KDD's Ohtemachi Building in Tokyo. Kids from Tokyo, London, Honolulu and Seoul, participated in the event. The kids asked questions not only about Sumo but also about Konishiki's hobby and private life. The sites were connected via Internet 1996 World Exposition's high speed network and the event was displayed on a large screen. All the kids were impressed by Konishiki's sincere attitude in answering all the questions in detail. Konishiki's former Japanese teacher in Honolulu also participated in this event and was impressed with Konishiki's present success.

An impressive answer that Konishiki gave to the kids was "you learn more by losing than by winning a match and the important thing in life is to strive towards your dream little by little." We hope that this event was meaningful to the kids and his advice will be useful in their future lives.
